The purpose of this program is to assist professors who have the interest and desire, but not yet the expertise, to teach courses about modern Israel. Faculty Development Grants enable select scholars to conduct research, travel to Israel, hone language skills, or pursue any other activity that would be conducive to developing and teaching courses about modern Israel.

This new program, managed by the OIR, provides funding to offset the publication costs generated by research collaborations with international partners. The applicant must hold a full-time tenure or tenure track position at the University of Ottawa, or at one of the University of Ottawa’s affiliated research institutes; early career and self-identified EDI researchers will be given priority. Eligible scholarly publications include peer-reviewed books, book chapters, edited volumes, and manuscripts.

Funding: up to 2,000 CAD

Translational Research Grants fund research initiatives that focus on the rapid translation of basic scientific discoveries into clinical applications with a clear benefit for patients with psoriatic disease.

The Cadieux-Léger Fellowship provides direct experience in a policy research environment focused on the diverse challenges facing Canadian foreign policy.

The Cadieux-Léger Fellowship will last up to twelve months. The Fellow will receive a total bursary not greater than $48,000 contingent on duration.

The objective of the Team Grants in Diabetes Prevention and Treatment in Indigenous Communities: Resilience and Wellness is to define and integrate models of resilience and wellness into diabetes prevention and treatment approaches among First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples.

The Canadian Family Justice Fund contributes financial assistance for family justice activities that inform Canadians about family law topics such as parenting arrangements and child/spousal support. It also supports the development of new strategies, models and tools intended to improve access to family justice.

The Projects component is designed to support:

• the development, implementation and evaluation of provincial and territorial innovative family justice services and programs;
• projects/activities that inform Canadians about family law issues such as parenting arrangements, child/spousal support guidelines, and support/access enforcement measures and other access to family justice services; or
• the development of new strategies, models or tools intended to improve access to family justice.

The specific objectives of this funding opportunity are to:

• Support Indigenous-led research related to gender and wellness;
• Encourage knowledge creation that will raise awareness and improve understanding of Indigenous concepts of gender in a strengths-based, wellness context;
• Facilitate knowledge sharing as to how Indigenous concepts of gender can affect wellness, in a manner that is directly relevant to and for the benefit of Indigenous communities; and
• Support the implementation of action-oriented, community-based projects that will improve wellness among Indigenous communities from a gendered perspective.
