The principal objective of this initiative has been to fund academic research in the development of innovative models of service delivery such as those that leverage technology, non-traditional treatment settings, and professional and paraprofessional treatment providers or others (e.g. teachers, parents, primary care physicians). With COVID-19, access to mental health care has become even more challenging, especially for children of low-income families.

The maximum amount per grant is $250,000 per year for up to 3 years, for a total of $750,000 per grant.

The overall goal of this funding opportunity is to support the identification and validation of shared mechanistic pathways of inflammation underlying two or more chronic conditions to inform the future development and/or implementation of an intervention trial for the prevention, diagnosis or management of inflammation aimed at improving the quality of life for those living with or at risk of developing chronic conditions.

The maximum amount per grant is $375,000 per year for up to 4 years, for a total of $1.5 million per grant.

The specific objectives of this initiative are to

• Create new knowledge about the magnitude and health effects of climate change on food security in the Canadian North and Northern Indigenous populations by incorporating Indigenous knowledge and land-based experience regarding traditional/country food sources.
• Identify effective approaches, programs and policy to address food insecurity in the North through implementation science.
• Build capacity for multidisciplinary research in the area of food security and climate change in the Canadian North that has strong and meaningful engagement with Indigenous communities and organizations.

The primary goal of the Vector Institute Postgraduate Affiliates Program is to foster collaboration and contributions among students and researchers with expertise in deep learning as well as machine learning and artificial intelligence more broadly.  The program is intended to promote better engagement among researchers in the broader AI community.

SSHRC and Infrastructure Canada (INFC) have launched this Knowledge Synthesis Grants (KSG) competition to mobilize social sciences and humanities research to examine and synthesize existing knowledge on mobility and public transit issues. Grant holders will identify research gaps and opportunities and their work will inform and guide policy-makers and service providers responsible for public transit at the community level.

The Corrosion Detection in Ships Sandbox, delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is now accepting applications. The Sandbox will take place at the Centre for Ocean Ventures & Entrepreneurship (COVE) facility in Halifax, Nova Scotia in the spring of 2021. The Racial Equity Special Research Grants program is to support rigorous, intellectually ambitious, and technically sound research that is relevant to the most pressing questions and compelling opportunities in relation to racial equity in education.

The value can range from $ 7,000 to $ 25,000.

These grants provide short-term and timely support for partnered research activities that will inform decision-making at a single partner organization from the public, private or not-for-profit sector. The small-scale, stakeholder-driven partnerships supported through Partnership Engage Grants are meant to respond to immediate needs and time constraints facing organizations in non-academic sectors. In addressing an organization-specific need, challenge and/or opportunity, these partnerships let non-academic organizations and postsecondary researchers access each other’s unique knowledge, expertise and capabilities on topics of mutual interest.

Amount: $52,000 per year

The program’s mission is to support career researchers early in their work so that they can become independently funded in the field of mammalian reproductive biology as related to the regulation of fertility. The individual should have training and experience at least equal to the Ph.D. or M.D. level and should not have a faculty appointment (i.e., instructor, lecturer or higher). Potential fellows should not have held the doctoral degree more than two years from receipt of the degree. Only one application per laboratory/sponsor will be considered.

In an effort to support Ontario-based entrepreneurs during these challenging times, SOSCIP launched the SOSCIP Entrepreneur Initiative which will provide additional support for campus-affiliated start-ups during a pivotal time of their development as they continue to collaborate and partner with the academic community.

For a limited time, SOSCIP is waiving the Project Access Fee for all new proposals involving a member-based campus-affiliated start-up and a SOSCIP academic member institution. This opportunity is open to all research disciplines requiring additional computing support and supplements financial support offered by partners such as Mitacs (including Accelerate Entrepreneur), NSERC and OCE. To ensure timely access to the computing platforms, priority access will be provided to projects submitted before December 4^th, 2020.
