University of Ottawa researchers have received nearly $5 million in Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Insight and Partnership Development grants. Funding from this federal granting agency will support 36 projects led by University of Ottawa professors working in the arts, humanities and social sciences. The projects involve more than 100 researchers in Canada and elsewhere.

Mental health in the workplace, Indigenous environmental leadership, historical awareness of young francophones living outside Quebec, and a sociology of addictions are among the research topics receiving SSHRC funding this year.

“Researchers from six University of Ottawa faculties will benefit greatly from these grants, which will allow them to study major issues affecting all Canadians today,” said Sylvain Charbonneau, vice-president, research.
