Serge Blais has been director of the Professional Development Institute for the past 10 years. He has extensive experience in the development and delivery of professional development courses of relevance to industry, on topics including cybersecurity and anti-corruption, and strategic communications and change.
Richard Clayman built a 30-year company and industry award-winning career in the financial services sector with Manulife Financial. As regional vice-president, he held senior field leadership roles in support of pension investment, insurance, securities and banking services. As executive-in-residence, he provides coaching support for Telfer’s MBA teams, as well as management team training and executive coaching for Telfer’s corporate clients. He is also a graduate-level professor who teaches in Telfer’s MBA programs and is a visiting professor in the MBA program at Donghua University in Shanghai, China.
Claude D’Amours leads the development of the school’s academic programs. He is a professor of electrical engineering specializing in digital communications, coding, modulation, multiple access, information theory and encryption. Between his academic experience and his time as a systems engineer for the government and a private company in Kanata, he developed expertise in the information and communication technologies sector.
Marc Dubé oversees research in the Faculty of Engineering. He is a professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, with an expertise in polymer reaction engineering. He has considerable industrial experience in the area of polymers from renewable materials and sustainable polymer production.
Veronica Farmer has over 20 years of experience in communications, business development, and sales and marketing. Recognized as a marketing and communications leader, she is experienced in both public and private corporate environments, for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, as well as working with entrepreneurs, start-ups and corporations. She brings a unique strategic, tactical and practical perspective to the KNBA.
Lucie Gendron is a seasoned executive with solid expertise in business development, marketing, human resources and management. Skilled in building and leveraging relationships, she is developing strong ties with uOttawa alumni working in Kanata North, as well as the region’s broader business community.
Amanda Gordon is a board member of the Kanata North Business Association, active member of the Kanata North HR Leaders' Council, and Ubiquity Leaderboard 2017 winner for Exemplary Leadership in Human Resources. She uses her experience as a senior executive in human resource management to advise businesses on how to optimize the workplace experience and become an employer of choice.
Hugo Lemieux is responsible for developing large funding proposals and strategic initiatives for the Office of the Vice-President, Research. He previously worked at the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, where he gained extensive experience in collaborative research funding programs. He also successfully developed and delivered educational and promotional programs while employed in the forest products industry.
Guy Levesque has more than 20 years of experience in research and innovation funding and policy development. As Associate Vice-President, Research Support and Infrastructure, he plays a key leadership role in promoting and supporting opportunities for the development, support and impact of world-class research installations and is responsible for developing and managing university-wide research operations.
Amy MacLeod is a tech executive with expertise in corporate and strategic communications, financial, executive and employee communications and counsel, market research, crisis communications and issues management. She believes that good communication comes from connecting people with information that conveys passion or purpose, and that diverse companies are competitive companies.
Kirsten Paquette has an impressive pedigree in human resources management. She is extremely knowledgeable in the area of employment legislation and has a high business acumen. With a knack for collaborating with business leaders to attract, retain, motivate and reward top talent based on organizational strategy, Kirsten is a leader in building progressive people strategies.
Jamie Petten leads the Kanata North Business Association, which represents Canada’s largest technology park with over 500 businesses and 21,000 employees. As a founding member of the team, Jamie previously led marketing for L-SPARK, Canadas B2B SaaS accelerator. In this role, she supported 36 portfolio companies in raising over $24 million in angel and venture capital funding while building a community of more than 10,000 SaaS entrepreneurs, investors and partners.
Mike Taylor is a human resources professional with exceptional skills in employee relations, leadership, employee engagement and strategic policy development for small to large companies in a variety of sectors. He has established and still leads a solid and functional corporate services department.
