Mitacs and OCE Representatives
Starting January 2018, Innovation Support Services will be providing access to Mitacs and OCE business development experts that can answer your questions and help you choose the funding programs aligned with your needs for your research project!

Mitacs
Mitacs is a national, not-for-profit organization that designs and delivers research and training programs in Canada. Working with 60 universities, thousands of companies, and both federal and provincial governments, they build partnerships that support industrial and social innovation in Canada. Mitacs-funded research helps to strengthen connections, improve economic performance, and create jobs.
As a team, Mel and Dan focus on connecting the dots between academia and industry. The duo will be at SITE, Room 3042 and will be roaming the university’s hallways and industry partners in search of bright ideas and bright minds to further the improvement of Canadian lives. We encourage you to connect and get to know them.
There is a lot of new opportunities with Mitacs for students and post-docs.

Ontario Centres of Excellence
In partnership with industry, OCE co-invests to commercialize innovation originating in the province’s publicly funded colleges, universities and research hospitals. Their efforts are focused on sectors of the economy with the greatest potential to drive Ontario’s future prosperity and global competitiveness.
OCE works directly with academia and industry to bring prospective partners together to turn ideas into income. They find out what’s needed by industry and literally explore the halls and labs of academe to find out about the latest breakthroughs from researchers. Together, they work through OCE’s tailored programs to commercialize innovations, transfer technologies and develop promising talent.
