On Wednesday, March 22, 2017, the University of Ottawa’s Innovation Support Services hosted a seminar with TandemLaunch’s COO, Matt Smith. Over 30 ambitious University of Ottawa students learned about the Tandem Launch formula for building successful startup companies by connecting researchers and business entrepreneurs with groundbreaking university research. In addition, the afternoon included a series of meetings with individual laboratories to discuss potential collaborations.

During the visit, the professors and researchers showcased their research in text analysis, image analysis, and smart grid networks. This resulted in several discussions around research collaborations with existing Tandem Launch companies, support for University of Ottawa training initiatives, and internships for University of Ottawa students.
