The eReviews system is now LIVE!

As of May 1st, 2018, only applications submitted in eReviews will be accepted.

eReviews is a web-based platform that allows researchers to submit initial and ongoing requests to the Research Ethics Boards (REB) for ethics review and store all of their projects' ethics information in one convenient location.

Researchers are able to fill out all REB forms online, respond to REB feedback online, view application status at all times and track ethics approval expiry dates.

eReviews can be accessed here.

  • User name = letters and numbers that precede ""
  • Password = Same as your uOttawa uoAccess account
  • Please consult the eReviews User Guide for instructions on account creation and application submission.

For COURSE OUTLINES : These applications are not available via eReviews and therefore continue to be submitted using the paper application form (see hyperlink).

For ONGOING PROJECTS initially submitted using the paper application (prior to eReviews), requests for continuing review (modification, renewal, closure) must continue to be submitted using the paper forms found in the section below.

Renewal and closure forms

A copy of the REB Evaluation Checklist is available to help researchers understand how the REB evaluates applications and ensure that adequate information is included in their application.

Faculty of Medicine: Researchers working on a project in which students from the Faculty of Medicine will be recruited as participants must first obtain approval from the Faculty of Medicine to conduct the project.  This approval must be obtained before an ethics application can be submitted for review by the REB.  Please contact Dr. Melissa Forgie for further details.
