Three University of Ottawa researchers have been elected fellows of the Royal Society of Canada, the highest distinction that can be given to a scholar, artist or scientist in Canada. As well, six University researchers have been elected to the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists, as part of its fifth cohort.
Professors Ivy Bourgeault (Telfer School of Management) and Katherine Lippel (Faculty of Law, Civil Law Section) have both been awarded a joint CIHR–SSHRC Partnership Grant, totalling over $2.8M, for their respective collaborative and interdisciplinary project on work-related health issues.
In recognition of their outstanding contributions to teaching and their exceptional research achievements, Faculty of Science professors Jeremy Kerr and Muralee Murugesu have both had their University Research Chair (URC) renewed for a five-year term.
The University of Ottawa has received an unprecedented number of Early Researcher Awards, presented by the Ontario Ministry of Research, Innovation and Science. Fourteen professors out of 25 submitted for consideration by the University were chosen, a success rate of 56%.
