SSHRC Partnership Grant Program

Partnership Grants provide support for new and existing formal partnerships over four to seven years to advance research, research training and/or knowledge mobilization in the social sciences and humanities through mutual co-operation and sharing of intellectual leadership, as well as through resources as evidenced by cash and/or in-kind contributions.

Two stage application process

Stage 1: Letter of Intent (LoI)

  • Internal Deadline (Research Management Services):
    3 p.m. February 15, 2017
  • External Deadline (SSHRC):8 p.m. (eastern time) February 15, 2017
  • LoI funding: up to $ 20,000 - to help in the preparation of the formal application

Stage 2: Full Application (by invitation)

  • Deadline: November 1, 2017

Stage 1: LoI

Notification of Application As soon as possible Email your Faculty's Research Facilitator and Research Projects Specialist
Secure Faculty Funding December 2017 Discuss contributions with your Faculty's Research Facilitator and Vice-Dean of Research.
Host Letter January 15th, 2018
(roughly 5 weeks prior to the submission deadline)
On or before January 11th, 2018, submit the following to the Research Projects Specialist in order to receive a host institutional letter of support from the Office of the Vice-President, Research:
  • brief summary of proposal (less than 1 pg)
  • Confirmation of financial contributions from your Department and/or Faculty (email, letter, etc.)
  • Statement of how much funding will come to uOttawa, should the project be awarded
Internal Review of Application (optional) As soon as possible: Projects are reviewed on a first come first serve basis. E-mail finalised draft of whole application to your Faculty's Research Facilitator and Research Project Specialist.
