Chaire de recherche Québec, francophonie canadienne et mutations culturelles
Faculty of Social Sciences
Department of Sociology and Anthropology
Under the direction of Professor E.-Martin Meunier, the Québec, Canadian Francophonie and Cultural Changes Chair will advance theoretical and empirical ideas on the identity transformations and the cultural changes in Québec and within French Canada from comparative and international standpoints. More precisely, this research program seeks to better understand how the main cultural changes since the Quiet Revolution have transformed the relation of the citizens of Québec and of the Francophone communities to their nation and to their identity.
The Chair's research program studies three types of cultural changes in Québec and within the Canadian Francophonie: socio-historic and socio-political changes; socio-religious changes; and socio-demographic and identity changes. Finally, the Chair wishes to serve as a point of gathering, sharing and consolidation of research and works on Québec.
