Fellowship to provide grad students with valuable museum experience

Posted on Monday, January 22, 2018

A new fellowship will give University of Ottawa graduate students a unique opportunity to access three national museum collections — at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, and the Canada Science and Technology Museum — to enhance their research. Created by Ingenium – Canada’s Museums of Science and Innovation in collaboration with the University of Ottawa, the Fellowship in Gender, Science and Technology is open to full-time master’s and doctoral students from all faculties.

The $5,000 fellowship will offer graduate students the chance to participate in public history projects on gender, science and technology and to gain heritage and curatorial work experience over a maximum four-month period. Fellows will be invited to contribute to curatorial discussions on collection development, exhibition, and research initiatives in the subject area of their research.

Two fellowships will be awarded in 2018. The deadline for submission is February 15, 2018 at noon. Find out more about the Fellowship in Gender, Science and Technology.
