ISS hosted the Living Labs Canada meeting attended by researchers from the Faculty of Science, Faculty of Engineering, and the Telfer School of Management who are doing research in the bio-economy, and the circular economy. Living Labs Canada is an initiative to connect researchers from universities, industry, and government organisations in Canada with the same in the Netherlands around building a more environmentally sustainable economy. The program goal is to provide applied education and research opportunities relevant to companies working in the green chemistry, resilient cities, agro & food, and sustainable business.

This meeting was the first step in the University of Ottawa becoming a member of the Living Labs Canada initiative. Should there be interest among researchers, Wendy Monteiro da Fonseca will return to the University of Ottawa in February 2017 with researchers from the Dutch institutions to make lasting research connections between the two countries. Please contact ISS to find out how you and your students can participate in this exciting initiative to build a greener world.
